Volcanism Pathway Shift

Evidence of magmatic activity and volcanism that occurred from ancient times to the present in the geopark area can be found in several locations, and is an interesting part of the geosite to learn about the products of magma activity and volcanic eruptions. Some of them are: column-shaped lava structure at Waluran, pillow lava structure in the Cikarang River and at the base of the
Curug Puncakmanik (Puncakmanik waterfall), as well as tuff beds and polymic breccias which were the result of magma activity and volcanism during the Miocene era and deposited in the marine environment.
The rock complex has been raised to the surface and is known as Cikarang Part (Cikarang-Jampang formation) and Ciseureuh Part of Jampang Formation (Cisereuh-Jampang formation) which are of the Lower Miocene age (23-16 million years ago) that can be seen in the Jampang plateau To the north,  particularly in the area of Cisolok, Cikakak and Palabuhanratu, the result of younger magma and volcanic activity can be seen. The rock types consist of igneous andesite and dacite rocks of the
Upper Miocene (11.5 million years ago), Pliocene tuffs and breccias (5-2 million years ago), which are part of the Citorek
Formation, as can be seen in Karang Naya, the beach of Samudera Beach Hotel, as well as in the geysers and hot
springs of Cisolok. The existence of magma activity that continues until today below the surface is characterized by the
presence of geysers and hot springs that continue to gush in the Cisolok and Cisukarame Rivers, as well as travertine and sinter deposits resulting from precipitation of hot water and geysers on the surface.

6. Waluran Bunker and Columnar Joint Geosite
    Wahuran Rock Garden Geosite and Waluran Bunker and Columnar Joint Geosite represents old volcanic deposits. Shifting to the north formed younger volcanic rocks such as rocks in the Puncak Habiebie (Habibie Peak) geosite, Cisolok-Cikakak Area Geosite Palabuhanratu Beach Area Geosite. The Cisolok geyser geosite is one of the evidences of volcanic activity which is
still ongoing today with the discovery of geysers as a manifestation of geothermal energy under its surface.
