Sukabumi, May 7, 2025 – The Sukabumi Regency Government through the Regional Secretary of Sukabumi Regency, Mr. Ade Suryaman, S.H., M.M., stated that they are fully prepared to face the revalidation process for the UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) status of the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark. This preparation was carried out together with the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark Management Agency and the CPUGG Pre-Revalidation Team who were present to provide strategic input. 
In the meeting held in Bandung, the Regional Secretary explained that the challenges due to the natural disasters that occurred at the end of last year did not dampen the region's enthusiasm to maintain the status of the international geopark. 
"With strong cooperation between the Sukabumi Regency Government, the Management Agency, and the entire community, we are optimistic that the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark will remain a source of pride and continue to develop as a world-class geotourism destination," said Mr. Ade Suryaman. 
The Pre-Revalidation Team appreciates the post-disaster handling steps that have been taken, and emphasizes that this can actually be an added value in the revalidation process, if conveyed clearly and in a structured manner. The Management Agency is active in preparing data, assisting local communities, and ensuring cross-sector involvement to support geopark conservation. Community support is also a major strength in facing the evaluation by UNESCO which is scheduled to take place in the near future..
