Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark
On Saturday, October 5 2024, 82 grade 5 students of SDS Darul Amal had an outing class at the Opak Ketan Jampang IKM Center Building, which is located in the Pajampangan area. This activity aims to introduce students to one of the traditional foods typical of Pajampangan, namely Opak Ketan Jampang.
Students were given the opportunity to learn about the history and process of making opak jampang sticky rice which has become one of the regional culinary specialties. Not only did they hear the theoretical explanation, the students were also directly involved in the process of making sticky rice opaque from start to finish. They learned how to process sticky rice raw materials, mold the dough, and bake the opak until cooked.
After the making session, each student took home a jampang sticky rice opak they made themselves as a keepsake. Apart from gaining direct experience in making traditional food, this activity also provides valuable learning about the importance of preserving local culinary delights and traditional culture.
