The cave consists of carbonate tuff with pseudo-layering as a part of the Bentang Formation which was formed about 23-16 million years ago (lower Miocene). The cave is somewhat unique, because it has some passageways with different elevation. According to local folklore, the cave was once used to be a sacred place of meditation for king's ancestor(picture attached).
